Spring Dewdrop

The Master Class is taught by Elena Morozova, Leading Nail Art Instructor at the CNI Training Centre, repeated winner of Russian Championships, member of the Russian nail art team, regular contributor to the Master Class column in Nailure magazine, and CNI-NSP brand promotion specialist.

The Spring Dewdrop master class uses liquid coloured gels from the Breath of Wind collection.  The gels have soft delicate tones which retain their intensity and richness even when applied in thin layers.  Using a variety of tones from this collection it is possible to create unusual colour transitions and effects and achieve subtle shimmers and sparkles in designs of various levels of complexity.

  • Step 1

We carry out the preliminary stage of preparing the natural nail plate.  We treat the hands of the technician and the client with Professional Antiseptic Skin Lotion.

  • Step 2

We push back the cuticle with a pusher.  We shape the free edge of the nail and remove the shine on the surface of the natural nail plate with a 180/240 White Granite nail file.

  • Step 3

We remove the pterygium around the cuticle with a Ceramic Pumice file.

We treat the nail plate twice with Nail Surface Cleanser.  Then with a No1 Fairy Point brush we apply Ultra Bondex over the entire nail plate without allowing it to run under the cuticle or the free edge of the nail.  Ultra Bondex air dries in two to three minutes.

  • Step 4

Placing an Oval disposable mould under the free edge of the nail.  Covering the nail plate with Matrix base gel.  Cure in the UV Lamp for 1 to 2 minutes.

  • Step 5

With a 421 Perfect Petal brush we apply Natural gel on the disposable form, creating the free edge of the nail in accordance with the desired length and shape.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for two to three minutes

  • Step 6

We remove the mould.  Covering the nail plate with Matrix base gel.  Without curing, we use a No6 Perfect Petal brush to apply drops of Tender Zephyr from the Breath of Wind liquid coloured gel collection.  Then we apply Flash gel to the Tender Zephyr gel using a drop on drop technique.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for one minute.

  • Step 7

Covering the nail plate with Matrix gel.  Without curing, we use a No6 Perfect Petal brush to apply drops of Fresh Breeze from the Breath of Wind liquid coloured gel collection.  Then we apply Flash gel to the Fresh Breeze gel using the drop on drop technique.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for one and a half minutes.

  • Step 8

Covering the nail plate with Matrix gel.  Without curing, we use a No6 Perfect Petal brush to apply drops of Desert Apeliotus from the Breath of Wind liquid coloured gel collection.  Then we apply Flash gel to the Desert Apeliotus gel using the drop on drop technique.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for one and a half minutes.

  • Step 9

With a Magical Square brush we apply a thin layer of Sky sculpting gel to form a perfect nail surface.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for two to three minutes.  We remove the dispersion layer with Nail Surface Cleanser.

  • Step 10

We file the nail with a 100/180 Grey Granite nail file.  We rework the surface with a 100/180 Smooth Diamond nail buffer.  We brush off the dust and treat the nail plate twice with Nail Surface Cleanser.

  • Step 11

Covering the nail plate with Matrix gel using a No6 Enchanting Oval brush, and without curing the layer use a Ideal Line brush from Design Brush Collect No2 to draw a design with White Smile gel from the French collection of liquid coloured gels.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for two minutes.

  • Step 12

Using a No6 Enchanting Oval brush we apply Flash protective gel.  We cure the gel in the UV lamp for two to three minutes.

  • Step 13

We remove the dispersion layer with Nail Surface Cleanser.  We treat the cuticle with the Cuticle Softener Applicator.

  • Step 14

    The finished result.
